Celebrating Elected Officials in Community District 3

We extend our congratulations to State Senators Gustavo Rivera and Luis Sepulveda on winning their re-election and State Assemblymembers Chantel Jackson and Kenny Burgos for winning their districts! Leadership at all levels of government is crucial to systems change and we are grateful for the advocacy work you do alongside and on behalf of Bronx Community District 3.

South Bronx Parent Community

Last week we launched our virtual Parent Community which provides South Bronx parents and caregivers access to:

  • Virtual connection and support from fellow caregivers from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

  • Facebook live webinars offered by SBRT community partners addressing: mental health wellness, food access, safety and health during COVID-19, and more!

  • Information and resources provided by SBRT staff and community partners.

Next week, we’re hosting a conversation about keeping families, especially families with children who have asthma and/or allergies, healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you work with families, please share this information.

City-Wide Back to School Survey

K-12 stakeholders recently decided to keep the City-Wide Back to School survey open past the end of the month. We want to gain insight from 500 NYC parents and caregivers on issues that matter to them and we’re almost there!
Can you help us get out the word?

Partner Corner

The Comptroller’s Office and A Better Balance are surveying New Yorkers about flexibility in their workplaces. This survey will allow the City to understand how New Yorkers’ relationships to work and family are changing. COVID-19 has upended the experience of work, and we are also tracking the outcomes of new protections codified in City and State law. The survey data will help identify policy recommendations and gain a fuller picture of the New York City workforce.
